January and February of 2008 brought very heavy snow to the Sierra Nevada in California. Here is an article from the local paper about the snowfall. Here is a link to the Central Sierra Snow Lab in Norden. The next two sets of snaps were taken Jan 31, as several feet of snow fell. As you can see it was snowing pretty hard while we were out. The dog (and all of us) loved it. It was beautiful.
This next photo of Jack really captures what he's all about, I think. Here he is, having quietly endured the humiliation of this silly hat, but he's ready to go. He knows it will be fun.. The next set was taken on Feb 3, after the third of three consecutive storms had gone through. Bright and sunny, but lots of snow. More of the same. A couple of weeks later the roads are clear but there are still huge berms of snow along the roads. Jack loved jumping up on them and running back and forth.
